Zora Neale Hurston was an American writer, anthropologist, folklorist, and documentary filmmaker. She wrote the books Their Eyes Were Watching God (1937), How It Feels To Be Colored Me (1928), Sweat (1926), Tell my Horse (1938), and more. This painting is to honor her legacy and to celebrate her 134th birthday, which is on January 7th.
